Half of them switch to the common spelling at some point because their tired of correcting people. This way names would still have a really girly name. Give your child the ability to present themselves well and for others to respect them by giving them a classic name rather than whatever is trendy with celebrities at the time. Grow up. The reason why I think of a girl is because of an actress Josephine Mitchell and hence a blonde girl.
